The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District is withdrawing its August 2014 Notice of Intent to prepare a DEIS for the Riverport-Exit 3 project in Jasper County, South Carolina. The applicant, SLF III-Hardeeville, LLC (Stratford Land), has substantially modified the proposed 4,304.65-acre mixed-use development (industrial, commercial, and residential) multiple times since the original NOI. Project footprint shrank from 5,136 to 4,304.65 acres and wetland impacts dropped from 102.16 to 46.26 acres. The Corps will now proceed with an Environmental Assessment rather than a full DEIS to evaluate the updated third Section 404 permit application.12
