The Bureau of Land Management Wyoming State Director issued a Notice of Intent to amend the Rock Springs Field Office Resource Management Plan and prepare an associated Environmental Assessment. The amendment covers approximately 3.6 million acres across Sweetwater, Sublette, Lincoln, Fremont, and Uinta Counties, Wyoming. The purpose is to bring special management designations and associated mineral restrictions into conformance with Executive Orders 14154, 14241, and 14261 and Secretary's Order 3418. The BLM will re-evaluate 12 ACECs, 5 SRMAs, and a National Historic Trails Corridor and assess whether mineral development can be permitted within those areas. Public scoping comments and ACEC nominations are due by November 3, 2025.12
