The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued a Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the relicense application for the 4.5-megawatt Schoolfield Hydroelectric Project No. 2411, filed by Eagle Creek Schoolfield, LLC and the City of Danville on July 29, 2022. The project is on the Dan River in Pittsylvania County near Danville, Virginia. Staff does not anticipate that licensing the project would constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment. The EA is targeted for issuance on December 2, 2025, followed by a 30-day public comment period.12
