The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued a Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the 862-kilowatt Shenandoah Hydroelectric Project No. 2509, a subsequent minor license application filed by PE Hydro Generation, LLC on January 3, 2022. The project is located on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River near the Town of Shenandoah in Page and Rockingham Counties, Virginia.1 FERC staff determined that licensing the project is not anticipated to constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the human environment, and the EA is targeted for issuance by December 31, 2025.2
