The Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued this Federal Register notice on April 4, 2025 to announce the issuance of Subsequent Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-38, DPR-47, and DPR-55 to Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC for Oconee Nuclear Station Units 1, 2, and 3, located on Lake Keowee in Oconee County, South Carolina. The licenses authorize operation at up to 2,610 megawatts thermal per unit. The NRC also published a Record of Decision dated March 31, 2025, supported by a final site-specific EIS (NUREG-1437, Supplement 2, Second Renewal) dated January 31, 2025, concluding that adverse environmental impacts of subsequent license renewal are not so great as to make renewal unreasonable for energy planning purposes.1234
