The licensee, Sugar River Hydro II, LLC, filed for license surrender on June 22, 2023. The surrender involves disconnecting electrical equipment, removing project infrastructure, and closing the penstock intake; the dam itself remains in place. Commission staff revised the EA issuance target from March 2, 2026, to July 10, 2026, due to additional information requests following a dam safety inspection. The EA will be issued for a 30-day public comment period.12
