The Department of the Navy is cancelling its June 2023 Notice of Intent to prepare a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) that would have updated the 1999 Final EIS and 2008 Final SEIS for homeporting three NIMITZ-Class aircraft carriers in support of the U.S. Pacific Fleet. The Navy determined the proposed action is no longer necessary to support the NIMITZ-Class CVNs currently homeported at NAS North Island. No further NEPA analysis will be conducted for this action.123
