The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued a Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Pelican Project, a 0.7-megawatt hydroelectric facility located on Pelican Creek in the City of Pelican, Alaska (FERC No. 10198). The City of Pelican filed an application for a new minor license on September 16, 2024. Commission staff determined that licensing the project is not anticipated to constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment. The EA is targeted for issuance on January 29, 2027.123
