The Kenai LNG Cool Down Expansion Project is a proposal by Trans-Foreland Pipeline Company LLC to expand the Kenai LNG Terminal in Southcentral Alaska to receive up to 0.4 million metric tons per annum of liquefied natural gas and achieve a send-out capacity of up to 20 billion cubic feet per year. The project amends a previously authorized effort and would replace certain equipment, including swapping an electric-powered trim LNG vaporizer for six high-pressure cryogenic vertical turbine pumps and two submerged combustion vaporizers, and substituting the authorized boil-off gas booster compressor with five new BOG compressors and three BOG aftercoolers to avoid routine venting. All work is confined to the existing 76-acre fenced operating footprint and the marine terminal. FERC is the lead agency and is preparing an Environmental Assessment, with the EA scheduled for issuance on October 16, 2026.12
