The Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for a proposed amendment to Special Nuclear Materials License SNM-2010 held by Louisiana Energy Services, LLC, dba Urenco USA, at its uranium enrichment facility in Eunice, New Mexico. The amendment would raise the allowed U-235 enrichment from 5.5 weight percent to less than 10 weight percent (LEU+). No new construction is involved; existing facilities and equipment would be used. The NRC assessed impacts across all resource areas and concluded all impacts remain bounded by those analyzed in its 2015 EA for the facility expansion, and that no EIS is required.12
