FHWA, in cooperation with WisDOT, is rescinding its 2012 Notice of Intent to prepare an EIS for an approximately 11-mile improvement project on US Highway 51 in Dane County, Wisconsin, between US 12/18 and WIS 19. The rescission is prompted by a reduction in project scope due to changed project needs and local conditions. No EIS will be prepared; new Federal-aid studies compliant with NEPA will instead be initiated for the corridor. No alternatives, impacts, or mitigations are analyzed in this procedural notice.
