The NRC issued a Finding of No Significant Impact and Environmental Assessment for a license amendment request from General Electric Hitachi (GEH) to approve a License Termination Plan (LTP) for the Vallecitos Boiling Water Reactor (VBWR) DPR-1 in Alameda County, California. The VBWR ceased operations in 1963 and has been in SAFSTOR; all spent fuel has been removed. If approved, the amendment adds a license condition reflecting NRC approval of the LTP and establishes criteria for when LTP changes require prior NRC approval. The NRC found no significant radiological or non-radiological impacts, making an EIS unnecessary.12
