BOEM issued this Notice of Intent to prepare an EIS for the Vineyard Mid-Atlantic Offshore Wind Project, a proposal by Vineyard Mid-Atlantic, LLC to construct and operate up to two commercial-scale offshore wind energy projects within Renewable Energy Lease Area OCS-A 0544, approximately 43,056 acres located roughly 24 miles offshore Fire Island, New York. The facility would include up to 117 wind turbine generators and 2 electrical service platforms, with offshore export cables routed to landfall sites on Long Island. Cooperating agencies include NMFS, USACE, and EPA. The draft EIS is expected in June 2026, with the final EIS in April 2027. Scoping comments are due March 3, 2025.1
