FERC staff has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Westbound Compression Expansion Project proposed by MountainWest Overthrust Pipeline, LLC (Docket No. CP24-13-000). The project would add two 15,900-hp gas-fired turbine compressor units at existing stations in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, construct a 1,400-foot pipe interconnect in Lincoln County, upgrade meter and interconnect facilities, and add pig launchers and receivers at three existing facilities, all to provide 325,000 Dth/d of additional firm transportation capacity. FERC staff concludes the project would not constitute a major federal action significantly affecting the human environment. The Bureau of Land Management participated as a cooperating agency. Comments are due July 24, 2024.
