The NRC issued an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for exemptions requested by Constellation Energy Generation, LLC for Braidwood Station Units 1 and 2, Byron Station Units 1 and 2, and LaSalle County Station Units 1 and 2, all in Illinois. The exemptions would allow transfer of certain earnings from nuclear decommissioning trusts (NDTs) to subaccounts that can fund spent fuel management, site restoration, and other non-radiological decommissioning activities, including use prior to permanent cessation of operations. The NRC found the action purely financial in nature, with no physical plant changes, no new radiological or non-radiological impacts, and no reduction in radiological decommissioning funding adequacy.1234
