The Bureau of Land Management published a Notice of Availability for the Draft Supplemental EIS for the Central Coast Field Office (CCFO) Oil and Gas Leasing and Development in California, covering approximately 284,000 acres of public land and 509,000 acres of federal mineral estate across ten counties. The supplemental analysis responds to a court settlement agreement and evaluates six alternatives for oil and gas leasing and development. The preferred alternative (Alternative F) makes most federal mineral estate available for leasing with Controlled Surface Use stipulations. The supplemental analysis found no notable increase in total impacts beyond those identified in the 2019 Final EIS, and no amendment to the 2019 RMP is required. Comments are due within 45 days of EPA's Federal Register NOA publication.123
