The Department of the Air Force and Department of the Army signed a Record of Decision on March 27 and March 17, 2026, respectively, for the Final Environmental Impact Statement for Proposed Mortar and Artillery Training at Richardson Training Area, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. The agencies selected Alternative 1, which authorizes all-season live-fire training, use of 155-mm artillery, and expansion of the Eagle River Flats Impact Area.
