FERC staff have prepared a draft EIS for the Sabine Pass Stage 5 Expansion Project, proposed by Sabine Pass Liquefaction, LLC and affiliated Cheniere entities. The project would add three liquefaction trains (Trains 7, 8, and 9) to the existing SPLNG Terminal in Cameron Parish, Louisiana; construct a new 48-inch, 55.6-mile Sabine Crossing Pipeline with a compressor station and six meter stations across Liberty, Chambers, and Jefferson Counties, Texas and Cameron Parish; and add or expand compressor stations along the existing Creole Trail Pipeline. The draft EIS concludes effects would be less than significant with mitigation, though long-term impacts on wetlands, forested lands, visual resources, and air quality are identified.
